Everyone has a unique journey to becoming a parent. For some, it doesn’t always happen early in adulthood. Whether you are positive you want to have a child or on the fence about parenthood, planning ahead is the best way to keep as many options open as your fertility years dwindle
Blood Tests: AMH + FSH (Day2 or Day 3 of your period) to check the ovarian function. Vaginal ultrasound (only if you are able to get one) to check follicles. If your family doctor is not able to provide one, we can help you find a fertility doctor to send orders to your local lab.
We will help you find and schedule a consultation with a suitable fertility doctor based on your result (If you need the order from a fertility doctor, you will need to do the consultation first)
If you have a partner, he can either freeze his sperm for future use, or he can produce it on egg retrieval day.
Usually the clinic will want to do a genetic test to see if intended parents carry any genetic disease which may pass down to their offspring.
The doctor will send you a treatment calendar and protocol based on your period cycle.
Depending on the protocol, the treatment cycle usually lasts 9-14days. During these two weeks, you will need to do injections every day. The doctor will modify your dosage based on the ultrasound and blood results. On the last day of injection, you will do a “trigger shot”. Your egg retrieval will be around 35 hours after it.
A screening to check if the embryos have the correct number of chromosomes. Transferring a normal embryo will increase the success rate of embryo transfer. The embryos will be stored in the lab.
Within the first 24 hours after retrieval, fertilization will complete. Embryos will take about 5-7 days to grow from one cell to 120 cells
Part 2
Some intended parents choose to carry their baby themselves, using embryo transfer.
We work closely with trusted surrogacy agencies to match you with a surrogate and guide you along your journey thereafter.
